A Sellout's Tale

Questions:
1) Whats wrong with being a sellout?
2) What makes coorperate people the way that they are?
3) What must the non-sellout's maintain? How?
4) In what ways does Urstadt reveal the truth?
5)In what ways is Urstadt's article therapeutic/cathartic and at the same time sad and depressing?
(Include the number(s) of the question you are responding to.)

Arite first off, can we do me a favor and like...sign the end of your posts? Unless your name is like Mikes, Kades, or Ellens in which case its obvious, but like Kristin stole my identity is Matas? Yeah sign that one.
In response to being a sellout, if you think of it from the persons point of view that is being 'sold out', it doesnt seem nearly as wrong as when an outsider sees it. A person that knows they are a sellout isnt really a sellout...if you know what i mean. I think whats more wrong about being a sellout is that you are taking advantage of this persons lack of identity, and 'selling' them one filled with, in this case, Volvo's ideals and perceptions that Volvo wants you to have. So whats wrong with being a sellout is that they are not smart enough to realize what exactly is taking place. And if they arn's smart enough, why not take advantage of them? Like the article said, Volvo most likely made money off of having these people come down to Arizona for a free trip, so if Volvo is capable of filling these identity-less journalists heads with ideals about volvo and how perfect it is, why not do it? It's their own falts (the sellouts) for falling under such an influence.

THIS IS IVAn... A sell-out's tale is simply an overture of what every human experiences. There are two perspectives in this story. If the writer doesn't write what he's told, he doesn't eat. Yet, when the writer writes for real, nobody wants to publish it hence read it. Whose responsible for these sell-out's, everybody. The society it conditioned aroudn teh notion of money and the power it holds. We are interested in making money, and when volvo wanted to sell its car it is simply contributing to a cycle. Almost anything you read is manipulated to convey a certain message to the reader. Thus, it is very hypocritical to deem the technique that in this case reporter's use to survive. Each person want to hear what they want to hear, but when the reader find the validity of the source it disapoints. CLearly, the world we live in is full of phony's and sell-out's. To avoid this you must be true to yourself.
